What it means

The server asked for a client certificate and the client has one, but the signer that holds its private key returned no signature, so the proof of possession (CertificateVerify) could not be made. The connection is closed with an internal_error alert; nothing was accepted.

The key never enters the TLS client: it sits behind a signer, in the same process or in another. This is that signer failing, not the server or the certificate. Check that the process or device holding the key is running and reachable, then reconnect.
