What it means

The certificate is genuine and well formed, but it is not for this use: a workload's client certificate presented as a server's, a CA certificate presented as a leaf, or, under a foreign anchor, a certificate whose extended key usage lacks serverAuth or whose basic constraints say CA.

The cause names the kind found and the kind needed. Give the peer a certificate issued for its role: a server certificate for a server.
