the virtual machine's disk cannot be made smaller

What it means

The disk is a file on the Mac that holds the images, the state and the records of everything zbx ran in the machine, with an ext4 file system in it. A file system cannot be shrunk without risking what is on it, so zbx vm config --disk takes a size at least as big as the file now is, and the disk only grows. The size applies at the next boot.

To start over with a smaller disk, stop the machine and move the file aside yourself; zbx never deletes it.
