What it means

.image in the build file declares the result: a base, the step outputs added to it, and an optional .config saying how it runs. .config is refused when a field is not what it can be: .workdir must be an absolute path, .user is uid:gid in numbers (names are not looked up at build time), each .env entry is KEY=VALUE, and a label key is [a-z0-9._/-] and given once. The cause names the field and why.
